DESCRIPTION: WW - Lord Elgin, 50-Millionth Watch Anniversary, manual wind, 19mm x 41mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold snap back case with curved articulating lugs, brown leather strap, refinished silvered cross hair dial with applied gold indices, 21J cal 670, s#50000561, triple signed. These watches were made in 1951 in a single run of 1000 pieces to commemorate the achievement of 50 million watches produced, and additionally there was one dummy model produced as well. These watches were originally retailed for $500, a vast sum in 1951.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical fine to micro-fine scratches, some spots of finish loss in a few areas of perimeter, steelwork with hardly any oxide; excellent refinished dial with few pinpoint surface spots; excellent hands; very lightly polished case shows very little wear, still retains some of the original factory finishing, no dents or dings; original crown shows very little wear; good plastic crystal with small glue spot at 6 not visible unless highly scrutinized.
